Next meeting January 12- NOTE new location!

Speaker: Ted Fitzgerald of the North Carolina State Board of Elections The NC Board of Elections has assembled a voter outreach team to help inform voters on recent election law changes as part of their effort to ensure that every North Carolinian who desires to cast a ballot is able to do so.

One of their focuses is to inform constituents about voting and to assist anyone in need of obtaining photo identification prior to 2016. Please plan to attend the meeting which will begin at 7 pm and will be held at the Cleveland County Memorial Library located across from the Shelby City Park at 104 Howie Dr. in Shelby.

CCGOP Christmas Party December 8

The CCGOP will not hold a regular meeting in December. Instead, please join us for a Christmas Celebration at NiFen Bistro, 214 S. Lafayette Street in Shelby on December 8 at 6 PM. In less than two years, North Carolina’s governor and legislature have helped to revive the state’s economy. The  economy is growing and adding jobs, improving the well-being of North Carolina residents.

 

Governor Pat McCrory took office in January of 2013, joining a Republican legislature. For the first time since Reconstruction, North Carolina’s executive and legislative branches were controlled by Republicans, and they had a large mandate for reform. In 2011, the state’s economy grew at an anemic 0.3 percent. It was well below the national rate of 1.6 percent and one of the lowest in the Southeast. The state’s growth lagged many of its peers in 2012 as well. Individuals wanted change.

 

The new government took action to repair the state. The biggest item on the agenda was tax reform. McCrory and the legislature’s plan passed one of the most impressive tax reform packages in any state in years.

 

First, the plan consolidated brackets and cut the individual income tax rate. The overhaul replaced three individual income tax rates ranging from 6.0 to 7.75 percent with a single rate of 5.8 percent. In 2015, the rate will be cut… more

US Congressman Patrick McHenry will be visiting Cleveland County’s Republican Headquarters on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014, from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Everyone is invited. Mark your calendars and bring a friend. CCGOP Headquarters is located at 236 S. Lafayette Street in uptown Shelby.
October 13:
Our next general meeting will be held on Monday, October 13th. Senator Warren Daniel and Robert Morgan, candidate for coroner, will be our guest speakers. Sen. Daniel will bring us news from Raleigh and give us an update on his current campaign. This will also be a great time to meet our Republican candidate for coroner, Robert Morgan. The meeting will begin at 7 pm and will be held at the Cleveland County Administration Building located at 211 E. Marion Street in Shelby.

HQ Opening!

The Cleveland County Republican Party announces the ribbon cutting and official opening of its election campaign headquarters to be held on Monday September 22, 2014 at 5:15pm at 236 S Lafayette Street  next door to the former Steak and Hoagie Shop at the corner of Graham and Lafayette Streets in Uptown Shelby.  The public is invited. Local Republican candidates will be on hand to meet voters. The headquarters is a location where people can come and sign up to volunteer, receive campaign literature and signs leading up to the November 4 election day.

CCGOP will not meet in the month of July; Speaker set for August 11

CCGOP is glad to announce that Judge Bill Southern, candidate for NC Court of Appeals, will be our guest speaker on August 11; the meeting will begin at 7 PM and will be  held at the Cleveland County Administration Building located at 211 E. Marion Street in Shelby.

Also, Ron Jones, Hickory’s GOP Field Office Director, will have a brief follow-up on the new phone app, Advantage.  A new tool to assist campaigning in neighborhoods.  He will be available to answer any questions that may have arisen from using the new app or help you get started.

May 12th and June 9th meetings

Ted Alexander To Speak May 12th 
Ted Alexander, US Senate Candidate for North Carolina, will be our guest speaker on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 7:00 p.m.  Ted will share his experiences with us about his campaign trail and what it is like to run in a state wide race.  So come out and hear from one of our own.
CCGOP’s regular meetings are held in the County Administration Building from 7:00-8:00 p.m., located at 311 E. Marion St. in Shelby, NC.
Jamey Falkenbury To Speak At June 9th Meeting
Jamey Falkenbury is currently the Director of Operations at the Office of Lt. Governor Dan Forest.  He will be going over the current affairs of education as a whole in our state, the history and facts of Common Core (development and implementation of the standards), background of what Lt. Gov. Dan Forest has been working on with regards to Common Core at the State Board of Education, and what direction our state should go with regards to standards.  He will also address what is happening in the General Assembly.
