Michele Nix was elected to the position of Vice Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party in June, 2015. After serving four years in the Navy, Michele’s father worked until retirement with Ford Motor Company. It was in these formative years where she learned the meaning of hard work, fiscal responsibility, and conservative principles.

Before being elected as Vice Chairman of the NCGOP, Michele served the Lenoir County Republican Party as Secretary, then Treasurer, then Vice-Chairman, and finally Chairman for three terms. All the while, she served as a member of the State Executive Committee. Lenoir County is split into three congressional districts, and as Chairman, Michele traveled to most District meetings working to form coalitions. Her experience on the ground has prepared Michele to help lead the Republican Party to victory in 2016 and beyond.

Michele and her husband, John, reside in Kinston, NC where they have five children and two grandchildren.
