The speaker for the February 8th meeting will be Michele Nix NCGOP Vice Chair.

Michele Nix was elected to the position of Vice Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party in June, 2015. Michele ran on a campaign platform of initiating a team of Grassroots Republican activists to engage minorities and youth voters to ensure a Republican victory in 2016 in the swing state of North Carolina. Since being elected Michele has visited over 50 counties in North Carolina, attending or speaking at county meetings, district meetings, and fundraisers. Michele’s goal is to impact all 100 counties by building coalitions and strengthening the Republican message.

Michele Nix was born in Troy, New York and grew up in a close-knit family with deep military roots. Both her father and grandfather served in the Navy and Army, respectively. After serving four years in the Navy, Michele’s father worked until retirement with Ford Motor Company. It was in these formative years where she learned the meaning of hard work, fiscal responsibility, and conservative principles.

Michele later moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in the financial industry. She is currently an Independent Senior Financial Advisor with First Citizens Investors Services where she a Registered Securities Representative and has a Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 and is licensed for North Carolina Life, Accident, and Health Insurance. She is also licensed for MediCare Supplement and Long-term Care Insurance. Michele holds designations as both a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor.

Michele has been active for years volunteering her time to non-profit efforts to build Kinston’s marketability. She has received the Businesswoman of the Year award from the American Business Women’s Association and Ambassador of the Year award from the Kinston Chamber of Commerce.

Before being elected as Vice Chairman of the NCGOP, Michele served the Lenoir County Republican Party as Secretary, then Treasurer, then Vice-Chairman, and finally Chairman for three terms. All the while, she served as a member of the State Executive Committee. Lenoir County is split into three congressional districts, and as Chairman, Michele traveled to most District meetings working to form coalitions. Her experience on the ground has prepared Michele to help lead the Republican Party to victory in 2016 and beyond.

Michele and her husband, John, reside in Kinston, NC where they have five children and two grandchildren.
